We are going to be converting our garage into an office / music / school space and I am working on the door. I hate garage remodels, because they always look like a garage. The garage door opening is 8 feet, but our house has dog ears on the corners, effectively making it 6 feet wide. I am thinking about building 2 custom windows on each side of the door and have created a mock up of what it will look like.

I think we are going with an 8 foot triple door instead. Since the brick is outside the framing of the house, I will be able to place the door behind the dog ears of the garage door opening and do some creative brick molding. We saw this approach on another home in the neighborhood and it looked really good.
What do you think?
The last thing I want is it to look trashy. Any ideas to make it better?
