One of the biggest benefits of homeschooling is the home school community.

We are blessed to be in a church that not only supports home schoolers, but openly endorses it at the leadership level. Three of our four Pastors actively home school and our elder teaches at Regent University in the education department and is a strong voice for teaching your children at home.

Homeschooling has also opened up the chance to meet other parents outside our church that do the same. There are some that home school for religious reasons, some for political, some for seemingly no reason at all, but one thing holds true, we have a sub-culture all our own.

We will never go back to government education.

Babysitter Beth

These little darlings are adopted home school children from a family we got to know at our garage sale. Their mother is a coordinator for an adoption agency specializing in adoptions from China and has been a good friend as we have looked into it. We kept running into her whenever we talked about China, and had decided to pray about adopting this year and wanted an answer in January.

We got pregnant. 🙂

Since Elizabeth is home in the early afternoons she was available to baby sit for the girls at their house. She had them at our home last week just to make sure she felt comfortable and everything went great. The girls are special, as cute as can be, and they know it! Elizabeth is also a special cute as can be, so they have met their match.

It never ceases to amaze me how the desires of our hearts seem to propel us along the path we are to walk. We know adoption is in our future and fully expect to have a little girl like one of these from another mommy to raise in our home.

After all, we have a thirteen year age gap to fill in!
