The problem I have with conversations that invariably cross the line into faith is the dependency faith has on the chemical processes within the brain.
Everything we experience as truth is synthesized through the brain. You can’t separate our version of reality from the organ responsible for consciousness.
If that organ is damaged by depression the reality of those afflicted is still truth to the afflicted.
Superimposing our understanding of reality onto their circumstances is arrogant. How we interpret the world around us is relative.
To say everyone has a choice between events because we have convinced ourselves we have choice is deceiving ourselves.
Eventually, the only choice for all of us is death.
